Administration
1. Are you a biography/autobiography reader? Come to the BHS Library to
find these biographies: Uncle Tungsten: Memories of a Chemical Boyhood

2. Overdue book notices are coming your way today from the BHS Library.
It is important for all students to return late books so other
students may use them – and you will avoid having a book debt attached
to your account. Please return those babies ASAP!
3. All leadership students: please attend leadership meeting at lunch
today 4/28 in conference room A.
4. Attention Teachers and Students: Today is the 2nd Annual Unity
Assembly during 3rd and 6th periods in the Community Theater. Please
take role before heading to the theater. See you there! Untie,
Educate, and Organize!
5. Tuesday, May 12, 12:20 pm -A representative of Diablo Valley College
will be in the College/Career Center to talk with you about the campus
and signing up for classes. Sign up in advance in the College/Career
Center.
6. Student Bands! Any bands (BHS students only) interested in
performing at BHS during lunch, please sign your band up in the
Administration office with Belinda McDaniel. More details and
information to come.
7. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising will be here
Friday, April 30th periods 2-6. Each period will be a different
presentation.
Period 2: The Psychological Impressions of Dress
Period 3: Marketing Yourself in the Electronic Age
Period 4: The Business of Fashion
Period 5: Discovering Your Creative Abilities
Period 6: Discovering Your Creative Abilities
Please advise how many students are coming to presentation room
capacity is 136. Permission slips can be picked up from Catherine
Brady in H113.
Saturday, May 1, 1:00 to 3:00 pm East Bay College Fair at Cal State
Hayward. Information including a list of colleges attending is
available in the College/Career Center.
Saturday, May 8, 1:00 – 4:30 pm – East Bay College Connection Fair at
St. Mary’s College. Free shuttles from Orinda BART station to the
fair. More information, including the list, is also available at
<http://www.stmarys-ca.edu/ebcc>.
Clubs
1. Do you act? Do you want to star in a movie? Come audition for an
action comedy on Wednesday at lunch in Room A203.
2. Xicano/Latino Seniors: Come to our meeting on Thursday in Mrs.
Taylor’s room during lunch to plan our next fundraiser.
3. Culture and Exchange Club Members: Important meeting on Thursday,
April 29th during period 1. If you plan to go on the end-of-year field
trip to the Ropes Course on May 14th, you must attend. See Mr. Berkman
in C316 or C107 for permission slips.
4. All Best Buddies members come to a picnic in the park across the
street from Berkeley High from 11:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday (4/30/04).
Pick up a permission slip from G105 if you will be missing class.
Sports
1. There is an informational meeting for all new players wanting to
play field hockey next fall. Meet on the track at lunch on Wednesday
the 28th.
Senior Section
1. SENIOR AWARDS ASSEMBLY: Participate in the Awards Assembly to be
held on Tuesday, May 25th at 7:00 pm Pick up a form in the College/
Career Center to let us know about the honors and scholarships you have
received. Deadline: May 11.
2. AUDITIONS: Want to perform at the 2004 BHS graduation? This year,
the ceremony will showcase many talented BHS seniors. Sign up to
speak, or perform in the administration office. Auditions will be held
on May 13th.
Events/ Performance
1. The Spring Dance. "Paradise at Night." is on! The dance will be
Friday, May 7th @ 7:30 p.m. in the brand new BHS student Union.
Tickets are on sale everyday at the community Theatre Box office@
lunch. BHS students only. Must have ID. Tickets are $7.00.
2. Speak out at the Changing School colors Youth Forum on Thursday,
April 29th at 3:00 pm in G210. We will be watching school colors and
discussing what students can do to get heard and make change. Adults
welcome but this is about the youth voice! Please join us!
3. The BHS Spring Musical opens this Friday at 8:00 p.m. It’s the world
premiere of “Man in the Musical,” a heartbreaking, hysterical romp
filled with song and dance and drama. Check it out Mazeltov!
Sales
1. Juniors: Junior Prom tickets are on sale everyday @ lunch in the
Community Theatre Box office. Tickets are $50.00 per person. Don’t
let this event pass you by. It will be off the hook!
2. Attention Junior Class male students: Express Tuxedo will be here
Wednesday and Friday at lunch with great last-minute deals for Jr. Prom
Tuxedos. Seniors! Start early rent your tux today – Courtyard @lunch.
